the Tale of Crescent Moon

Once upon a time, when Time herself was young,
The Earth had a daughter, Venus' friend, Luna.
Never before now, was this ballad sung:
"The guardian of Time, the Sun was Luna's lover!

In 'Chance Meetings', happened their love;
At dawn and dusk, for a fleeting moment.
To His Majesty, the Maker, did they bow
And recited their song of love and lament.

Furious was the King; Luna quivered!
'Separated by eternal duties, be.'
Thus was the Curse showered.
In guilt, grief and regret, did Luna flee.

Grief and the Curse kept the Sun ablaze.
Yet their, love, never flicker'd,
Drove Luna and Sun for an embrace
And left Luna half burnt n' charred."

The Raven on the high bough
Recites this poem in celtic runes;
This is the tale of love,
That left behind a Crescent Moon!
